Tuition & Fees
Students will need to purchase method books and music on occasion throughout the year. Additional event fees may be required for the Kiwanis Music Festival and/or Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations.
Students should plan to commit to lessons for the full year. If unforeseen circumstances require a student to terminate lessons mid-year, one month’s (30 days) paid notice is required to end lessons. Students can choose to attend these lessons or not.
I do teach during the summer months! It's been my experience, both as a player and a teacher, that students not only stall during the months off, but almost always lose some of their progress, leading to increased frustration in the fall. Music shouldn't be an overly stressful endeavour, and oftentimes the more relaxed schedule during the summer allows students to practice and play more, getting even more out of their work!
Tuition Rates & Payment Schedule
Lessons run from September to June, and include 40 lessons and two recitals. Summer sessions run from July to August.
Each month from September to June has a set monthly rate, based on weekly lesson length. The fee is not directly pay-per-lesson, rather holds the student's lesson spot in the studio each week, along with lesson preparation, supplemental materials provided by me, recitals, admin, etc.
I know that things occasionally come up (sickness, travel, schedule conflicts, etc.), and while my current attendance policy will still apply (see Studio Policy), I am also committed to ensuring students are not losing out. Missed lessons with more than 24 hours notice will be made up at a later time, with several different options being provided.
Session Breakdown
September 5th - December 16th (14 lesson weeks, 1 vacation week TBD)
January 2nd - June 30th (26 lesson weeks)
July 3rd - August 31st (2 lesson weeks, 2 vacation weeks TBD)
Lesson Rates
30-minute lessons: $140 per month
45-minute lessons: $200 per month
60-minute lessons: $240 per month
*Lessons longer than 60 minutes are available upon request. Discounts are available for families with multiple students attending lessons.
**Students starting mid-year will have pro-rated monthly rates until the end of June.
Summer Session (for July and August)
30-minute lessons: $35 per lesson
45-minute lessons: $50 per lesson
60-minute lessons: $60 per lesson
